Westlake University is currently accepting multiple applications from high-level talent for teaching faculty positions to expand the university's professional teaching force further, establish a high-level teaching system aligned with the university's mission and goals, and provide students with firm learning guidance and support. The specific job responsibilities and application requirements are as follows:

Requirements:

1.?A strong familiarity with Westlake University; deep understanding of professional ethics and sense of dedication in teaching which aligns with Westlake University’s missions and goals; sincere passion for teaching courses in Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences; extensive theoretical and practical experiences in higher education.

2.?Ability to design and deliver a creative General Education curriculum.

3.?Desired to have a Ph.D. degree in one of the Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences disciplines (areas related to Literature, Philosophy, History, Economics, and Sociology are preferred) obtained from a leading Chinese or international university. Special consideration can be granted to candidates with extensive experience teaching university-level courses in the Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. In particular areas, excellent candidates with a master’s degree and teaching experience may also be considered.

4.?Applicants with overseas education/teaching experience and competence in bilingual teaching (English and Chinese) are preferred.

5.??Strong communication (writing and public speaking) and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

1.?Develop global-standard General Education curricula that can fulfill the requirements of liberal arts education in select areas of the Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.

2.?Teach General Education courses in Humanities, Arts, or Social Sciences to doctoral and undergraduate students in Science and Engineering fields.

3.?Ensure sufficient office hours for student advising.

4.?Organize or participate in other teaching-related and cultural activities on campus.

WHAT WE OFFER:

These are full-time teaching faculty positions open at three distinct ranks: Lecturer, Associate Professor, and Professor. The length of the contract is typically fixed to three years. There is the possibility of renewal, potentially over several years.
