Description

Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP) of the School of Physical and Mathematical Science (SPMS) at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) is reinforcing its research activities in quantum sciences and technologies by hiring talents through the Nanyang Assistant Professorship (NAP) programme. We are looking for independent and strongly motivated researchers either theoretician or experimentalist with a successful experience in at least one of the following areas: Quantum computing, quantum sensing, quantum communication, quantum software, and quantum algorithm. The attractive startup grant of the NAP programme will allow the shortlisted candidate to develop his/her own research activity in the vibrant ecosystem at SPMS.

Successful NAP awardees will be given a tenure-track Assistant Professor appointment and granted a substantial start-up grant (SUG) to lay the foundation for their research ventures within the university.

NTU invites outstanding early-career researchers (postdoctoral fellow or equivalent) to apply for an appointment as a Nanyang Assistant Professor.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be early career researchers, holding a PhD or MD or equivalent degree, obtained within the last 10 years.
  • A strong track record of early achievements and the potential to lead an independent research group are required.
  • Selected candidates must be committed to taking up an independent research appointment at NTU.

    SHAPE: Up to SGD 1 million startup research grant and scholarships for hiring up to 2 PhD students
  • A dedicated White Space Fund of up to SGD 250,000, within the budget cap stipulated above.
