Description
As an Assistant Manager ADAS HAD, you will oversee the development activities within the Process Chain for "Electronics, Fully Automated Driving" at BMW. This role focuses on advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and highly automated driving (HAD) projects in China and Asia, including teamwork, standardization, supplier evaluation, development, analysis, validation, and testing.
Major Responsibilities and Degree of Influence
- Collaboration: Act as the representative for China and Asia, working closely with the FG and FO teams in Germany.
- HW and SW Updates: Take full responsibility for updating hardware (HW) and software (SW) for ADAS/AD functions, components, and test setups.
- Testing and Approval: Oversee the testing of HW and SW for ADAS/AD functions and components. Approve local test and validation reports and documents.
- Requirements Management: Manage requirements for ADAS/AD functions.
- Alignment and Communication: Align with local BMW departments in China and BMW FIZ in Munich to ensure smooth communication and integration.
- Project Monitoring: Review, monitor, and report the status of ongoing ADAS/AD projects.
- Supplier and Authority Contact: Maintain contact with suppliers and regulatory authorities.
- Project Monitoring: Monitor ADAS/AD function and component projects from a China perspective, including production, quality, development, validation, and testing.
- Budget Support: Assist in the budget planning process for the organization unit.
Education / Degree
- Master’s degree in Engineering (Automotive, Electrical, Communications Engineering, or similar), ideally with a background in ADAS.
Knowledge / Skills / Competences
- Development Process Knowledge: Experience with the development process of automotive electronic systems (hardware and software) with a focus on ADAS/AD.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of English (written and oral) is mandatory. German language skills are highly appreciated, and Chinese language skills are considered a plus.
- Technical Expertise: Strong technical know-how and the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Driving Skills: Valid Chinese driver’s license and advanced driving skills.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and team player skills. Open-minded and highly self-organized.
- Project Management: Experience in project management including time management, planning, and monitoring.
Experience
- Technical and Project Management: 4-6 years of technical work and project management experience in the automotive electronic industry or a similar field.
- International Exposure: 1-3 years of international studies or employment experience.
- Automotive Development Experience: 1-3 years of experience with automotive development processes.
