The Digital Method Quality Management Lead will spearhead the strategy and implementation of digital tools for quality management across project and life-cycle measures. This role supports the overall digital and IT systems within the MC QMT organization, project management, and supply chain, including programs from AG to MC, locally developed digital methods in China, and integration with BBT-M.

Key Responsibilities

  • Digital Strategy and Roadmap: Develop and implement the digital strategy and roadmap for MC QMT in China, aligning with management requirements and business needs.
  • AG IT System Rollout: Lead the rollout, introduction, testing, and training of AG IT systems for QMPs in MC.
  • Local Digital Tool Development: Collaborate with network partners (MC-X) and the IT department to drive the development of local digital tools for QMP processes.
  • Change Management and Digitalization: Identify change requests and opportunities for further digitalization in QMP processes. Manage customer requests and deliver long-term solutions through new technologies or system optimization.
  • Product Development: Prioritize requests and manage product development backlogs with an overarching view.
  • Agile Implementation: Lead cross-functional teams in implementing change projects or new digital tools using agile methodologies, including sprint planning and execution.
  • Product Board Setup: Establish and organize a "product board" for digital methods within M China to ensure topics are communicated, aligned, and discussed at the appropriate levels and approved through the necessary channels.
  • Project Monitoring and KPIs: Develop innovative processes to monitor project maturity using predefined criteria and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project progress.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a minimum of 4 years of experience within BMW or a similar role in supplier quality management or project leadership.
  • Quality Methods Expertise: Deep experience in quality methods with excellent knowledge of QMT processes, including product and process development and series production.
  • Digital Tools and Systems Knowledge: Strong understanding of quality tools/systems and experience in digitalization projects.
  • Industrial Process Knowledge: Well-rounded knowledge of industrial production processes, process engineering, and process development & series production.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English; additional proficiency in Chinese or German is a plus.
  • Intercultural Competence: Proven ability to work successfully in intercultural teams.
  • Flexibility and Mobility: High flexibility, mobility, and the ability to handle stress.
  • Networking: Strong network within the relevant quality community.
  • IT Experience: Experience in IT department roles focused on developing QMP application tools.

Professional Experience

  • Automotive Quality Management: Experience in a technical field at an automotive OEM or equivalent, specifically in quality management within production.
  • IT and Digitalization Projects: Proven track record in managing IT projects related to QMP application tools and digitalization.
