Description

The Admissions Officer is crucial in driving the growth and reputation of the Shanghai Community International School (SCIS). This role works closely with the Director of Schools, Campus Head, and the Admissions, Marketing, and Communications teams to introduce the school to prospective families and build relationships within the broader community. Responsibilities include responding to admission inquiries, conducting family tours, managing applications, and fostering partnerships with local businesses, relocation companies, and human resource departments. The Admissions Officer will also identify new business opportunities and trends to expand the school's customer base and drive enrollment growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to admission inquiries and conduct prospective family tours, coordinating with the admissions secretary and administration for scheduling.
  • Manage the application and assessment process to identify suitable candidates, enhance the school’s brand, and increase student enrollment.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies aimed at converting prospective families into enrolled students.
  • Gather and update feedback from families, alumni, and other stakeholders to improve admissions and marketing efforts.
  • Assist in creating and executing standard operating procedures and communication strategies for admissions.
  • Strengthen relationships with community stakeholders, including feeder schools, businesses, relocation agencies, and corporate HR departments, to benefit the SCIS community.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and event participation.
  • Analyze market trends and customer needs to adapt and enhance SCIS’s competitive position.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to potential families and organizations, emphasizing the value of SCIS’s educational offerings.
  • Establish strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, including administrators, parents, teachers, and student leaders.
  • Represent SCIS at fairs, open houses, and other recruitment events to promote the school.
  • Support the admissions department during New Family Orientation and other school events.
  • Assign tasks and supervise admissions staff, offering feedback to maintain high performance standards.
  • Foster a collaborative, supportive team environment that encourages professional development.
  • Propose process improvements and recommend training to boost office efficiency and performance.
  • Provide administrative support across the school, ensuring a unified approach to admissions efforts.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.

Qualifications:

  • University graduate with a degree in a relevant field.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English; fluency in Mandarin is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in marketing, communications, or public relations.
  • Experience in K-12 international school settings preferred.
  • Creativity and ability to translate ideas into written or visual content.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and knowledge of design software (bonus: onsite graphic designer support available).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and deliver results on time.
