Overview

The UN Resident Coordinator in China is seeking a motivated Event Support and Coordination Intern for a six-month, unpaid, full-time internship. This role supports the coordination and effectiveness of UN operations, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Duties and Responsibilities

Event Support:

• Provide logistical and administrative support for events, including international day commemorations, meetings, and seminars.
• Coordinate invitations, branding, and informational materials.
• Maintain a database of partners and invitation lists.
• Assist in organizing UNCT/joint UN meetings, including venue booking and managing RSVPs.

Administrative Coordination Support:

• Manage office logistics, including calendar maintenance and high-ranking visitor coordination.
• Handle the office shared mail account and respond to inquiries.
• Manage the joint UN calendar with regular updates.
• Support procurement and payment processes.
• Collect programmatic and operational information as needed.

Qualifications

To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet one of the following:

• Enrolled in or completed a graduate program (Master’s degree or equivalent);
• Enrolled in or completed the final year of a bachelor’s degree program (minimum).

Additional requirements:

• Proficient in standard software applications.
• Keen interest in the UN's work and commitment to its ideals.
• Ability to interact effectively with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Languages

Fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese is required.

Additional Information

This internship is unpaid. Interns are responsible for their travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses. Visa requirements should be discussed prior to accepting the internship offer.
