Research Focused Faculty Positions – The University of Chicago

The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine in the Biological Sciences Division is seeking applications for tenured or tenure-track faculty positions at any rank. We invite candidates conducting research in the following areas: Genetics, Genomics, Data Science, Cancer Biology, Metabolism, Diabetes, Microbiome, Immunology, and related disciplines. The academic rank and compensation (including a comprehensive package of fringe benefits) will be determined based on the applicant’s qualifications and experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Engage in groundbreaking research aimed at advancing human health.
• Collaborate with various departments and institutes across the University of Chicago, Argonne National Laboratory, and/or the Marine Biological Laboratory.
• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses as part of the academic program.

Appointees will hold primary positions in the Department of Medicine, but the role will foster interdisciplinary collaboration across the university and its affiliates. Candidates will have access to cutting-edge core facilities, competitive research space, and start-up funding, as well as opportunities to interact with colleagues and students from a variety of graduate programs.

Qualifications:

• A doctoral degree or equivalent is required.
• Proven research experience in any of the specified areas.
