Description

The Communication on Progress (CoP) is the UN Global Compact’s annual disclosure requirement for participating companies, serving as the main accountability mechanism for the initiative. It provides a platform for businesses to disclose and showcase their continuous progress on the Ten Principles. The UN Global Compact is conducting a comprehensive review of the CoP framework to enhance its integrity and adapt to emerging market trends, addressing the needs of participating companies and their stakeholders.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Reporting, the Manager, Sustainability Reporting will facilitate the successful operationalization and adoption of the CoP. This role involves close collaboration with team members to develop guidance materials for Global Compact Country Networks and participating companies, support participants through a help desk, assist with consultations, and analyze feedback from 2024 submissions.

Key responsibilities include enhancing the 2025 CoP questionnaire in collaboration with external vendors, integrating upcoming Forward Faster KPIs, and overseeing vendor relationships for successful implementation. The Manager will also develop resources to support participants’ reporting journeys, including e-learning sessions and webinars.

Additionally, the Manager will prepare briefs, presentations, and other communications on the CoP for various stakeholders and ensure content updates are tracked. Collaborating across departments to engage stakeholders will be essential, as will serving as the sustainability reporting subject matter expert, staying informed about global reporting standards and regulations.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage CoP resources and advise on enhancements for the 2025 CoP Questionnaire.
  • Develop guidance materials for Global Compact Country Networks and participating companies.
  • Conduct research on global sustainability reporting frameworks and keep team members updated.
  • Provide support services via a help desk for participating companies and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with UNGC Issue Leads to enhance the CoP questionnaire and integrate Forward Faster KPIs.
  • Oversee translations of all CoP materials, including recorded sessions and the questionnaire.
  • Assist in positioning the CoP with external stakeholders through presentations and webinars.
  • Analyze data and prepare briefings and guidance for internal teams.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in sustainability, corporate sustainability, business management, or international relations.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience, including project management skills.
  • Familiarity with ESG issues and sustainability reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and recognized data/project management platforms.
  • Proven ability to analyze data and deliver key insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
  • Flexible, service-oriented team player with a proactive attitude.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience in client-facing roles.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with launching digital tools/products is a plus.

Benefits

  • Salary Range: $66,000 - $80,000
  • Retirement Plan: 15% employer contribution after 6 months, with an additional 7.5% matching option.
