ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

DIRECTORATE OF SDG INNOVATION AND ECONOMIC TRANSFORMATION (IET)
Responsible for developing innovative UNIDO services in agro-industry, sustainability standards, and climate technologies, in collaboration with various stakeholders.
Division of Fair Production, Sustainability Standards and Trade (IET/PST)
Develops and implements services for fair and responsible local industrial production and trade, emphasizing skill building and a conducive business environment.
PROJECT CONTEXT
Support for training and skilled employment in the heavy equipment sector of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (210117)
A partnership project aimed at increasing the employability of Congolese youth in the Heavy-Duty Equipment and Commercial Vehicles industry by improving vocational training quality and relevance.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Coordinator will work under the guidance of the UNIDO backstopping officer at Headquarters in Vienna and will be responsible for:
MAIN DUTIES
- Project Implementation (25%)
- Ensure timely delivery of project services and resources.
- Team Management (30%)
- Coordinate national working teams and international consultants.
- Technical Advisory Services (25%)
- Provide advisory services on vocational training and industrial skills development.
- Project External Relations (20%)
- Present project progress to partners and maintain effective relationships.
MINIMUM ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Advanced university (Master’s or equivalent) degree in management, economics, international relations, or equivalent.
Technical and Functional Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years in sustainable development project implementation.
- Experience in Sub-Saharan Africa, preferably in DRC.
Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken French required; English desirable.
