Head of Academic Data – Dehong Shanghai International Chinese School

Dehong Shanghai International Chinese School is seeking a Head of Academic Data to join its dedicated team. About the Role

As the Head of Academic Data, you will be responsible for administering and managing student information systems. You will serve as the first point of contact for teacher support, ensuring that data quality is maintained to the highest standard. This role requires collaboration with school leadership to produce, analyze, and report on student data, which supports teaching and learning outcomes across the school.

Key Responsibilities

• Student Data Management:
  • Oversee student data input and import mapping to maintain data accuracy and consistency.
  • Administer formal academic reporting to parents as directed by academic leaders.
  • Create and customize data templates for various reports.
  • Manipulate data and generate reports to meet user requirements.
  • Document key data processes and support system security and backups in collaboration with the IT team.
• Academic Systems Administration:
  • Support scheduling and curriculum mapping in collaboration with academic teams.
  • Manage student information systems related to attendance, student conduct, and wellbeing.
  • Reduce data duplication and improve efficiency through automation and streamlined workflows.
• Reporting and Assessment:
  • Build and maintain assessment recording systems.
  • Administer internal and external data collections and produce outputs for students, parents, and staff (e.g., report cards, D3 insights).
  • Train and support staff in using assessment and reporting systems.
• School and Community Support:
  • Ensure compliance with policies related to child protection, health and safety, security, and data protection.
  • Serve as the main contact for the EiM Data and Information Services Department and integrate data across systems in collaboration with the IT team.
  • Provide training and support to staff, parents, and students on data systems and processes.

Requirements

• High level of computer literacy (including O365).
• Proven ability to provide support for information technology systems.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage rapidly changing priorities.
• Experience with Student Information Systems (e.g., iSAMS, ManageBac, SchoolBuddy, FireFly) is highly desirable.
• Previous experience working within a school environment is ideal.
• Fluent English speaker, Mandarin/English bilingual preferred.
