Shenzhen Medical Academy of Research and Translation (SMART) invites exceptional candidates in biomedical research from top universities and institutions globally to join us as independent Principal Investigators (PIs). Research areas of interest include, but are not limited to, Neuroscience, Immunology, Cryo-ET Bio-interaction, Aging, and Rare Diseases.

These positions will remain open long-term, with recruitment areas being adjusted according to SMART’s evolving development plans. We warmly invite talents at all career stages and encourage colleagues and supporters to recommend outstanding researchers.


Positions and Qualifications

Senior PI:

  • Full professor or equivalent position at a recognized university or research institution.
  • Proven academic achievements and international recognition.
  • Strong teaching and mentorship skills.
  • Leadership in advancing research disciplines or achieving international standards.

PI:

  • Associate professor or equivalent position at a recognized university or research institution.
  • Demonstrated innovative research ability with potential for field leadership.
  • Excellence in teaching and mentoring graduates.
  • Internationally recognized accomplishments.

Junior PI:

  • Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience.
  • Achievements equivalent to assistant professor at a recognized university or research institution.
  • Strong potential for independent research and future tenure-track positions.
  • Demonstrated innovative research capability.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead a research group to pursue innovative research aligned with SMART’s mission.
  • Apply for scientific research funding and manage project execution.
  • Supervise and mentor research team members.
  • Teach and mentor graduate students.
  • Participate in SMART academic and administrative activities, including recruitment and international cooperation.
