Hiba Academy Hangzhou (Nursery) is seeking an experienced and passionate Early Years Class Teacher. Key Responsibilities

Programme and Practice

  • Contribute to a setting that views children as strong and capable.
  • Utilize the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework effectively.
  • Document children’s experiences through learning stories, reflective journals, observations, and narratives.
  • Employ a strength-based approach in assessment to foster wellbeing and involvement.
  • Collaborate with teaching teams to build on children's interests through project-based learning.
  • Incorporate technology as a learning tool to enhance engagement and community sharing.
  • Maintain child-to-adult ratios and ensure a safe, nurturing environment.

Care and Wellbeing of Children

  • Create a sense of belonging for each child in their classroom.
  • Uphold the highest standards of care, child protection, and safeguarding in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Families

  • Build authentic relationships with families to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Maintain frequent communication and involve families in classroom activities.
  • Share information about the programme through presentations, workshops, and meetings.

Environment

  • Plan inspiring learning environments that promote independence and inquiry.
  • Respect and maintain resources and spaces, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Organize resources to support and extend children's learning.

Professionalism

  • Model and promote values of kindness, courage, integrity, and respect.
  • Collaborate with peers to enhance children's learning experiences.
  • Attend team meetings and take on responsibilities within the team.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) and database systems.
  • Follow all procedures outlined in the Staff Handbook.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years in early years education, with a proven ability to create a reflective and responsive learning environment. Cross-cultural experience is a plus.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English; Chinese language skills are desirable.

  • Strong collaborative spirit, stamina, and a positive attitude.
  • Passion for early childhood education and a commitment to lifelong learning.
  • Openness to new pedagogical practices and a willingness to adapt.
  • Ability to embrace change and work under tight timelines.
