Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated PSHE (Life Skills) Teacher to join our secondary school team. The ideal candidate will inspire students through engaging, skill-based lessons while promoting wellness, safeguarding, and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Curriculum Development
- Design and deliver dynamic, age-appropriate PSHE lessons aligned with YCIS’s updated curriculum.
- Foster student well-being through structured lessons, theme days, and Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs).
- Assess and track student progress, ensuring timely reporting and feedback.
- Collaborate with the Head of Inclusion, Safeguarding Lead, and external agencies to enhance the PSHE programme.
2. Safeguarding & Student Support
- Uphold the school’s Child Protection Policy and Adult Code of Conduct.
- Identify and respond to student welfare concerns, working closely with counsellors and year leaders.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment.
3. School Community & Leadership
- Contribute to the School Strategic Plan and monitor its implementation.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and safeguarding training.
- Support the Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) programme and student supervision.
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by school leadership.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Teaching certification/license (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
- Experience in teaching PSHE, Health, or Life Skills, preferably in an international setting.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, mental health support, and student well-being.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-cultural environment.
- Organized, proactive, and student-centered approach.
