Description

Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor specializing in Education, with a focus on Psychology, Mental Health, Special Education, Leadership and Management, Multicultural Education, or Educational Technology. The successful candidate will enhance the academic excellence of our institution by engaging in teaching, conducting research, and participating in community service, all while supporting the development of future educators.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching:

  • Deliver high-quality instruction in courses related to Education, with focus on Child Development, Educational Psychology, and/or Special Education, etc.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that foster student engagement and learning.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance, providing timely feedback to support academic growth.

Curriculum Development:

  • Collaborate with faculty to design and update curriculum materials and course offerings that reflect current research and best practices in the field.
  • Integrate technology and contemporary educational practices into the curriculum to enhance learning outcomes.

Research:

  • Conduct original research in areas related to Education, with focus on Child Development, Educational Psychology and/or Special Education, etc., contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the related fields.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at academic conferences.

Mentorship:

  • Provide academic advising and mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students, supporting their professional development and career aspirations.
  • Supervise student research projects and practicum experiences.

Service:

  • Participate actively in departmental meetings, committees, and college-wide initiatives.
  • Engage with the community and professional organizations to promote early childhood education and advocate for children and families.

Job Requirements

  • A doctoral degree in Early Childhood Education / Child Development / Psychology / Special Education, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • A distinguished record of teaching, educational management, and curriculum design and development in higher education.
  • Significant contributions to and international reputation in scholarship and research.
  • Demonstrated academic leadership.
  • Experience as an early childhood educator is advantageous.
  • A substantial record of scholarly publications and presentations in relevant fields.
  • Fluent in Cantonese, Putonghua and English

Candidates with less experience will be considered as Associate or Assistant Professor.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

Appointment will be made on fixed-term contracts for full-time positions, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement.

Remuneration is competitive and will be based on qualifications and relevant experience. The College offers group medical insurance and dental, staff development support and annual leave to eligible appointee(s).
