About me

I am Bouchaib Chkaif, I have a robust academic background and diverse experience in higher education and law. I hold a Ph.D. in Higher Education from Zhejiang University and an LLM in Chinese Law from Tsinghua University, complemented by a Master’s in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (MTCSOL).

In my professional journey, I have served as a lecturer at Beijing International Studies University, contributing to the Middle Eastern Institute, and interned in curriculum development at Hailiang Early Childhood Education. My training includes participation in the Arab League Chinese-Arabic-English Translators program and various summer camps focused on language and environmental education.

Throughout my career, I have received several honors, including being recognized as the Outstanding International Graduate Student at Zhejiang University and winning awards in public speaking and Chinese language competitions. My commitment to education extends beyond the classroom, as I have actively volunteered at significant international events, such as the Hangzhou G20 Summit.

I strive to leverage my expertise in higher education and law to foster professional growth and empowerment in the educational sector.

Work Experience

Lecturer
Beijing International Studies University January 2, 2023 - Present During my two years at Beijing International Studies University (BISU), I had the rewarding experience of working as an Arabic teacher and lecturer. In this role, I designed and delivered engaging classes that catered to students of varying proficiency levels, from beginners to advanced learners. I focused on creating an interactive learning environment where students felt encouraged to practice their language skills and explore Arabic culture. One of the highlights of my teaching experience was witnessing my students’ progress and enthusiasm as they gained confidence in their language abilities. I incorporated a variety of teaching methods, including group discussions, multimedia resources, and cultural activities, which made learning both enjoyable and effective. The connections I built with my students and the opportunity to share my passion for the Arabic language were truly fulfilling, making my time at BISU one of the most enriching periods of my professional journey.

PhD September 1, 2017 - June 1, 2022 I pursued my studies in higher education management, where I developed a keen interest in the dynamics of educational exchanges between nations. My thesis focused on the China-Africa higher education exchange, exploring how collaborative initiatives can enhance educational opportunities and foster mutual understanding between these regions. This research not only deepened my understanding of the challenges and opportunities within international education but also highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships in advancing academic development.
