Description
BASIS International & Bilingual School Wuhan is seeking qualified candidates for a Primary School Humanities Teacher for the 2024–25 school year.
Our Primary School teachers adopt a collaborative, co-teaching approach to enhance student engagement and learning opportunities. The Subject Expert Teacher (SET) assumes the lead in delivering engaging, subject-specific learning experiences, while the Learning Enhancement Teacher (LET) ensures individual student understanding. Together, you cultivate a joyful and rigorous learning culture that celebrates hard work and where intellectual pursuit leads to exceptional student outcomes.
As an English Language Arts Subject Expert Teacher, you build a strong foundation of language and social science skills and knowledge, covering topics such as the writing process, grammar, reading comprehension, and literary and rhetorical devices. You also collaborate with fellow teachers to create interdisciplinary lessons incorporating other subjects such as drama or history.
In Grade 4 History, you teach students the foundational social studies skills as a means to understand how and why historical events happened and how historical sources are applied in this context. In this course, the students explore the history of their local area and further learn about key events from the 20th century. The content is complemented by learning the foundations of global geography and the use of maps. Throughout the entire course, you extensively integrate the language skills taught in the Grade 4 English class.
You will also:
• Foster meaningful relationships with each student to ensure a personalized and successful learning trajectory
• Guide students in pursuing academic achievement, personal responsibility, and intellect
• Pursue continuous professional growth by participating in ongoing professional development, collaborating with colleagues, and staying informed on the latest educational techniques and best practices in your field
