Description
The University of California, Riverside (UCR) is inviting applications for a postdoctoral position in the cognitive neuroscience of aging. This position will involve collaborative research on an NIA-funded project aimed at understanding how individual differences in the structure and function of the locus coeruleus influence perception and memory in older adults.

Position Overview: This postdoctoral role offers the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary research team, including Professors Xiaoping Hu, Ilana Bennett, and Weiwei Zhang at UCR, Professor Aaron Seitz at Northeastern University, and Megan Peters at UC Irvine. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the project, managing experimental setups, data collection and analysis, collaborating with graduate students and undergraduate research assistants, and presenting research findings at conferences and in publications.
Qualifications:
- Basic Qualifications:
- A doctoral degree in Engineering, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, or a related field.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong background in fMRI data collection and analysis, advanced computational and statistical skills, project management, and expertise in one or more relevant areas: neuroimaging, cognitive aging, brain aging, psychophysics, perception or memory processes, eye-tracking, metacognition, or the role of the locus coeruleus in cognition.
- Experience in programming psychophysical experiments using MATLAB or Python is preferred.

Salary Information:
- Postdoc salary ranges from $64,480 to $77,327, depending on experience. The salary is determined based on the UC salary scales, which are aligned with experience levels. See Postdoctoral Scholar Salary Scale.
