Position Overview: Postdoctoral Researcher - Pathology
We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Notta Lab at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, part of the University Health Network. This exciting research opportunity focuses on pancreatic cancer, one of the most aggressive and challenging cancers to treat. The successful candidate will contribute to pivotal research on the cellular origins, mechanisms of drug resistance, and tumor evolution in pancreatic cancer. This role offers hands-on experience in genomics, transcriptomics, and histological analysis with the use of patient-derived organoids and xenograft models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee and coordinate research projects, including the Laser Capture Microdissection (LCM) initiative.
- Histopathological Analysis: Perform detailed histopathological review of pancreatic cancer slides and classify tissue samples.
- Cytomorphological Classification: Analyze and classify pancreatic cancer organoid models and xenograft models.
- Slide Repository Coordination: Manage and organize the Notta Lab Slide Repository for long-term research use.
- Research Contribution: Collaborate with the scientific team on key projects related to the mechanisms of pancreatic cancer development.
Qualifications:
- Required: MD with board certification in Pathology.
- Strong research background with a publication record or manuscript in preparation.
- Experience in pancreatic or gastrointestinal cancer research is preferred.
- Familiarity with Laser Capture Microdissection (LCM) is an asset.
- Experience with digital annotation software (e.g., Qupath) is encouraged.
- Knowledge of Xenograft mouse models is a plus.
