About The Learning Frontier (LF):
The Learning Frontier is a specialized center within YCE that provides supplementary services for children with mild, moderate, and intensive learning needs, as well as enrichment opportunities for highly capable students. LF offers a range of services, including psycho-educational assessments, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, counseling, and psychotherapy. LF also supports educators and parents through bilingual workshops and certification courses. The center is committed to personalized, rigorous standards of service to help children and families achieve their potential.
Role: Educational Psychologist
Reports to: LF Director
Purpose of the Role:
The Educational Psychologist will provide comprehensive psycho-educational assessments and mental health counseling for children and families. The role involves working collaboratively with families, educators, and other specialists to support the social, emotional, and academic development of children.
Qualifications:
Education and Credentials:
Graduation from an accredited program in Educational Psychology, School Psychology, or Clinical Psychology.
Credentialed or in the process of obtaining credentials.
Licensed Clinical Psychologist or Educational Psychologist preferred.
Experience:
Proficient in using a wide range of test instruments to assess conditions such as ASD, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, and emotional/mental health disorders.
Experienced in evaluating family dynamics that contribute to learning and functioning challenges.
Skilled in providing individual, group, and family counseling to address social/emotional functioning.
Language Skills:
Fluent in English.
Proficiency in Chinese is highly desirable.
Personal Attributes:
Highly organized and able to meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Evaluation:
Conduct initial intake meetings, observations, and screenings.
Administer and interpret diagnostic assessments to identify student needs.
Draft detailed reports with findings and recommendations for home and school settings.
Counseling and Therapy:
Provide individual and group therapy for children.
Develop and implement treatment plans.
Maintain accurate therapy records and progress notes.
Collaboration and Support:
Work with teachers and parents to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Collaborate with other specialists (e.g., speech therapists, occupational therapists) in a multidisciplinary team.
Build strong partnerships with families, teachers, and schools.

Provide training and workshops on psycho-education topics for educators and parents.
