The International Centre for Higher Education Innovation under the auspices of UNESCO (UNESCO-ICHEI) is a Category II educational institution established by UNESCO in Shenzhen, China. It is built upon the Southern University of Science and Technology and serves as a public welfare unit in Shenzhen. The Centre closely aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 and leverages Shenzhen’s strengths in the information and communication technology industry. It focuses on the digital transformation needs of developing countries along the "Belt and Road" initiative by collaborating with flagship universities worldwide to enhance the digital capabilities of university teachers and administrators, thereby promoting the digital transformation of higher education institutions in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, and expanding opportunities for lifelong learning and quality, equitable education.
Due to work requirements, the Centre is now publicly recruiting multiple internship positions, with specific information and requirements as follows:
Recruiting Departments: Global Partnership & Programme Office, IIOE Management Centre, Knowledge Production and Communications Centre.
Number of Positions: A total of 3, one for each department
Work Format and Location: Offline internships are preferred, with the location at Southern University of Science and Technology in Shenzhen
Work Duration: The internship period is generally no less than 4 months, requiring 4-5 days of attendance per week

II. Position Requirements
- Full-time undergraduate students or above, with a preference for majors in French, educational technology, higher education, education policy, and related fields
- Proficient in spoken and written French, capable of reviewing content in the aforementioned fields; strong writing skills, with excellent Chinese and English writing and editing abilities
- An international perspective, adaptable to the work requirements and environment of international organizations
- Proficient in Office software; familiarity with image editing, document formatting, and data analysis is preferred
- Strong learning ability, detail-oriented, hardworking, with strong execution capabilities and good teamwork spirit
Position 1: French Intern for Global Partnership & Programme Office
The Global Partnership & Programme Office is responsible for implementing the Centre's international cooperation strategies in higher education across Asia, Africa, the Arab region, and Latin America. This includes localizing strategies and needs for various countries and regions, integrating resources, conducting customized project design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation to generate tangible results; operating partnerships with international higher education institutions and organizations; conducting regional and project-specific research; and organizing regional meetings and events.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in gathering information required for higher education cooperation projects in regions such as Asia and Africa, including but not limited to digitalization and AI integration policies and practices in higher education, and help write country profiles and research reports
- Assist in data collection, organization, and analysis related to projects
Position 2: French Intern for IIOE Management Centre
The International Institute of Online Education (IIOE) is a flagship project initiated by the Centre in collaboration with partner institutions in developing countries in the Asia-Pacific and Africa regions, as well as partner institutions and enterprises in China, aimed at enhancing the institutional capacity of partner institutions in developing countries to improve access to quality higher education. The IIOE Management Centre is responsible for the daily management and operation of the IIOE project.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the full lifecycle of IIOE platform online courses and training products through user operations, event operations, data analysis, and other operational methods to drive user growth and increase user engagement
- Collaborate with department colleagues to collect and organize insights regarding the functions and content of the online learning platform, producing relevant research analysis reports
- Responsible for archiving multilingual materials related to IIOE platform development (text, images, videos, etc.)
- Complete other tasks assigned by the department head
Position 3: French Intern for Knowledge Production and Communications Centre.
The Knowledge Production and Communications Centre (KPCC) fully utilizes the Centre's functions of "knowledge production" and "information sharing" through empirical research in higher education, publishing the Centre's journal, project research reports, and operating websites and new media.
Responsibilities: Interns will undertake research and article writing as needed, including but not limited to:
- Assist in the integration, writing, editing, and translation of materials for the Centre's news bulletins, concept documents, research reports, etc.
- Assist in the editing of the Centre’s flagship publication, "Cloud?" including topic discussions, article writing, and interviews.
- Assist in literature review, information gathering, data compilation, data analysis and report writing
- Assist in writing case studies and articles sharing latest practices in the area of higher education digital transformation.
- Support research on education-related themes for international conferences, write research analysis reports, and assist in interdepartmental communication and collaboration
- Participate in various domestic and international cooperative meetings, support international expert collaborations, and engage in organizing and operating international conferences
- Complete other tasks assigned by the department head
III. Internship Compensation
Interns will receive an allowance based on the relevant standards for visiting students at the Southern University of Science and Technology. Those who meet the internship duration and performance requirements will receive a relevant certificate.
IV. Application Method
