About LIT

The Leibniz Institute for Immunotherapy (LIT) is a biomedical research center focusing on translational immunology in cancer, transplant rejection, and autoimmunity. LIT has its own GMP labs and strong collaborations with the University and University Hospital of Regensburg, enabling direct clinical application of research findings.


Position Overview

Join the Division of Functional Immune Cell Modulation led by Prof. Luca Gattinoni, working on advanced T cell therapies. You will lead research on T cell self-renewal and multipotency to enhance CAR- and TCR-engineered cancer immunotherapies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead in vivo studies in mouse models of adoptive T cell therapy

  • T cell isolation, engineering, and culture (viral/non-viral platforms)

  • High-dimensional flow cytometry, cytotoxicity, cytokine multiplexing, and bioenergetics (e.g., Seahorse)

  • Imaging, luciferase reporter assays, confocal microscopy

  • Prepare samples for omics: RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, scRNA-seq, TCR-seq, metabolomics

  • Co-supervise students


Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Immunology, or related field

  • 3+ years of postdoc experience

  • Expertise in T cell biology, gene editing, and mouse models

  • Record of high-impact publications

  • Strong team leadership and communication skills

  • Fluent in English
