• June 30, 2024 (for local applications)

Entrance Requirements: Applicants with an LLB degree or a legal professional qualification are considered. Minimum English language proficiency requirements include:

• TOEFL: 88 (internet-based test)
• IELTS: 6.5 (overall band score)
• CET Band 6: 520
• Equivalent qualifications are also accepted.

Courses and Tuition: Explore the diverse range of LLM courses on offer for the academic year 2023/24. The tuition fee for the 2024 intake is HK$6,900 per credit, with a minimum of 24 credits required to complete the program.

Scholarships and Financial Assistance: CityU Law offers LLM Admission Scholarships, with a maximum value of HK$30,000 each. Additionally, the program has obtained fellowships from the UGC Targeted Taught Postgraduate Programmes Fellowships Scheme. Financial assistance, including the Non-means-tested Loan Scheme (NLS) and Continuing Education Fund (CEF), is available.

Admission and English Proficiency: There is no minimum GPA requirement, with admission primarily based on academic merit. English proficiency can be demonstrated through TOEFL, IELTS, CET-6, or equivalent qualifications. TOEFL and IELTS scores are valid for two years.

• Interviews may be arranged based on individual cases.
• Online IELTS Indicator and TOEFL iBT Home Edition are not accepted.
• Recommendation letters are not mandatory but can be included if deemed helpful.
• Applicants without an LLB may still be considered based on legal professional qualifications.

Program Duration and Deferral: The LLM program is combined-mode, offering flexibility for local students to study full-time or part-time. Non-local students are admitted to either full-time or part-time studies, with changes requiring university approval. Deferred admission is generally not considered.
