Description
Duke Integrative Medicine, a multidisciplinary clinic with a whole-person, patient-centered approach, is seeking a Mind Body Therapist to join their dynamic clinical environment. The ideal candidate will value the mind-body connection and possess expertise in both traditional (e.g., CBT) and non-traditional therapies (e.g., EMDR, mindfulness-based therapies, hypnotherapy).
Key Responsibilities:
- Psychosocial Assessment and Treatment:
- Conduct psychosocial assessments to identify emotional, social, and environmental strengths and problems related to patients' diagnosis, illness, treatment, and life situation.
- Develop and implement comprehensive psychosocial treatment plans with appropriate clinical social work treatments and interventions.
- Provide crisis intervention, individual, marital, family, and group therapies, as well as grief and bereavement support.
- Mental Health and Substance Abuse:
- Screen, identify, diagnose, and manage mental health and substance abuse problems.
- Provide training to healthcare professionals on these issues.
- Assist with cases involving abuse, neglect, domestic violence, and rape.
- Training and Education:
- Educate patients, families, and healthcare professionals about adaptation to diagnosis and treatment.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary teams and contribute a clinical social work perspective.
- Academic and Research Contributions:
- Engage in academic activities such as teaching, research, and publication.
- Maintain knowledge of community resources and coordinate patient needs.
- Administrative Duties:
- Document assessments, plans, and interventions per departmental and hospital standards.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement and supervisory conferences.
Level II Responsibilities:
- Perform all Level I duties.
- Provide clinical and administrative supervision for social workers.
- Lead team meetings and manage coverage.
- Participate in hiring and performance management processes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Level I:
- Adherence to NASW and NC Certification Board standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of clinical social work practices, including mental health and substance abuse.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in prioritizing tasks and managing stress.
- Level II:
- Same as Level I plus strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage conflict and implement departmental initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in social work from an accredited institution.
- Experience:
- Level I: Two years of post-internship experience in a healthcare setting or social service agency.
- Level II: Same as Level I plus five years of post-master’s experience, with leadership and supervisory experience.
- Licensure: Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) by the NC Social Work Certification and Licensure Board.
